Global Entertainment ices deals in Washington, British Columbia

As it prepares for the opening of three events centers for the 2006-07 hockey season, Global Entertainment Corp. Wednesday announced the expansion of its operations into the state of Washington and British Columbia.
Global Entertainment (AMEX: GEE) is engaged in sports management, multipurpose events centers and related real estate development, facility and venue management, ticketing and brand licensing.
Global broke ground this month on a $45 million entertainment center for the city of Wenatchee, Wash. Global also will manage the facility.
In addition, Global reached an agreement with the city of Dawson Creek, British Columbia, to design and manage the Encana Centre, where a subsidiary of the Phoenix company will oversee $10 million in capital enhancements.
The three multipurpose events centers set to open in the next 30 to 60 days are located in Prescott Valley; Rio Rancho, N.M.; and Broomfield, Colo. They have a combined cost of about $120 million.
The Prescott Valley Convention and Events Center is a component of a new 40-acre retail and entertainment district. A Global subsidiary operates the Central Hockey League, which includes the Arizona Sundogs, which will play at the new facility.
